Frequently Asked Questions & Tips About Waxing
Why wax?
Waxing is the best way to remove unwanted hair. It is more effective than shaving because it removes the hair from the root no just the surface. Waxing the eyebrow opens up the eyes, and gives you and immediate “eye lift”.
How long does waxing last?
In most cases hair growth is minimal during the first 2-3 weeks. Regular waxing makes the hair grow slower, the hair becomes finer, and thinner, and eventually hair growth may stop altogether.
What areas can be waxed?
You can wax almost any part of the body.
Is waxing painful?
The discomfort of waxing is over quickly, any redness from irritation usually goes away in 30-90 minutes. Taking Ibuprofen 30-60 minutes before waxing can help ease the pain. Staying relaxed is the most helpful.
How long does the hair need to be?
Generally ¼” length, or if you can pinch the hair it is long enough.
How long does waxing take?
Depending on hair growth and density of the hair your appointment can be 15-90 minutes, each time wax it will take less time.
What are a bikini and a Brazilian wax?
A bikini wax is more conservative-generally involves removing hair just inside the panty, or swimsuit line, on the top and sides.
A Brazilian wax involves hair removal around the anus, perineum and vagina. It is your choice to leave a strip of hair or not hair at all.
Waxing do’s and don’ts:

  • Regular exfoliation is important, never use bar soap on body part you want to wax.
  • Regular waxing helps the skin get accustomed to the procedure and reduces irritation and pain.
  • Avoid the sun or tanning beds immediately after waxing. Please wear sunscreen; waxed areas are more prone to hyper pigmentation.
  • Avoid tight fitting clothes especially in waxed areas; tight clothes can result in irritation, and ingrown hairs.
  • Avoid heavy exercise for 8-10 hours.
  • Do not wax if you are using accutane or retin-A products.
